Chromebooks
Why have we chosen Chromebooks?
A Chromebook looks like a laptop but operates in a different way, they run using the Google Chrome Operating System. The Chromebook operating system is produced by Google who provide a wealth of apps and services which are specifically designed to support students in education.
After extensive research into which is the best device for our school for both our staff and students, it was decided that Chromebooks are most suitable supported by the following characteristics;
■ They boot up in less than 8 seconds
■ They have a long battery life
■ They use simple technology
■ There are automatic updates, meaning no need to purchase and install new software.
■ Excellent collaboration tools.
■ Easy student-teacher workflow
■ Large number of computers can be managed centrally.
■ They are cloud based so enable large storage capacity.
■ We are a Google school so already use Google Classroom and teach using this technology.
