Exam Results 2015 -

GCSE results:

It has been a superb morning at the school as the students have been celebrating the best set of GCSE results in the school’s history. There has been a huge increase on last year’s results and the students have beaten every target set for the year group. To achieve 73% for 5 or more A*-C with English and Maths is fantastic, and when you consider the challenging target for this cohort was 66% it emphasises what they have achieved.
Both English and Maths have excelled, with their best ever results – both departments achieving 86% for A*-C grades, and in Maths a third of all students gained an A* or A grade. Teachers in  these departments, along with all other departments, have gone the extra mile for the students and the range of support on offer has been excellent. When I saw students walking down Heath Road in early May, at 6.30 in the morning,  looking at revision books, I knew this was a committed year group!  Over 50 students in the year group have secured 5 or more passes at A* or A grade.
The year group is made up of many stories of students overcoming adversity and showing great resilience to achieve such amazing success, and we wish all of the students the very best for the future, whether they are staying with us for a further 2 years, or moving on to new adventures.

Our aim is to combine traditional values with innovative approaches and the school motto of "achieving excellence" sums up our philosophy.

We also aim to help your children develop into responsible, resourceful and resilient citizens. We strive for excellence in terms of exam results but also recognise that there is so much more to life and to education than just results. All of our students are offered opportunities to excel and are given the support they need to take advantage of these opportunities. Click on the 'Students' tab on our website to see the range of activities on offer. In addition to the many sporting and arts based clubs, there are trips abroad, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and clubs linked to all academic subjects. We are very to keen to work with parents and carers and recognise that your role is crucial to a successful school.

We are also mindful of our central role in the local community and we are always looking to develop new links with partners. We have many students from out of catchment areas and we are always happy to show parents/carers and students around our school.
